A strong protest was raised in Italy at the news that the Veneto region proposed to be denied access to organ transplants, people with severe mental handicap. The reaction on the basis of available information was correct, but the region has quickly made clear: no one in Italy, let alone in the Veneto region, is discrimination in access to health. This cheers: If someone wants to use a selective criterion for entitlement to health, not on the basis of the utility for the patient, but based on what the patient "deserves" it would create an unacceptable discrimination.
said, makes you think the reaction of amazement that followed the news: strange, because unfortunately in the West, genetic discrimination is an everyday occurrence, and accepted in practice. Today, perhaps we do not live in a civilization that can not give birth to babies conceived for people with disabilities? And we do not live in a world that does not know what to do even the disabled person already born?
